East Side of Providence
The East Side of Providence is a collection of neighborhoods in the eastern part of the city of Providence, Rhode Island. Not to be confused with East Providence as many new to the area do. It officially comprises the neighborhoods of Blackstone, Hope (Summit), College Hill, Wayland and Fox Point.
Most of Brown University's academic buildings are located here as well as several private schools such as Moses Brown, Wheeler, Lincoln School, Providence Hebrew Day and the French-American School.
There are numerous restaurants, cafes and shops along Thayer Street, Wickenden Street, Wayland Square, South Water/ North Main and Hope Street. Blackstone Blvd is a great greenspace with a nearly 2 mile walking/running path and has a great little playground/park (Lippitt Memorial Park) at the end that houses a local farmer's market on the weekend.
